I noticed someone had drawn a Bart Simpson over on deviantART and it reminded me of how I use to draw Homer allll the time (perhaps ironically, I was always complete rubbish at drawing Bart). So uh, yeah, tried drawing Homer from those long-ago-memories.

Now that I’m looking at it, Homer’s jowl area isn’t a far cry from what I do with Herbin and the other Oakens. Very likely this is where I got it from. There’s an ‘Influence Map’ floating around the web, in which artists cite their artistic inspirations. Groening would totally be on mine. Simpsons and Futurama forev’s! …Yeah!

What’s this, an update on SaTurDaY?! … anyway.

Had a little art party tonight to get some work done (props to you that popped by, appreciate it). In-between figuring out a panel beat I did some random sketching, like you see above. Definitely planning to stream again real soon. Perhaps it will even become a regular ‘thing’. Wouldn’t that be swell??

There’s a TNG marathon running on SyFy today and uh, I’ve been watching it? It’s all been season 1 too, which is neat. Just caught the first two episodes Ferengi were ever in and um, they kinda started out as like, chimp people? Dunno how long they had those specific mannerisms, can’t say I remember ‘em hopping around and ya’ know, acting like chimps. On the other hand can’t say I care, because I kind of loathe them. My feelings towards Ferengi are akin to how most people feel about Ewoks and Gungans. Just rub me the wrong way, manz. Now I wish I had drawn Worf karate chopping a bunch of ‘em into a pit or something. Darn you, hindsight… or maybe foresight… something is getting darn’d.

Anyway, Data is cool too. Well, sort of. Well, in a goofy not-super-cool way… probably why I’ve always dug him. I’m noooooot actually that big a Trek fan, honestly (which I could get into, but nah), but Next Gen was always, by far, my favorite era. Mostly because of my pops, and now I suppose nostalgia.

This was just a stupid pencil sketch that I did way too much with in Photoshop. I use to be real bad at that, now it only seems to happen every blue moon.

Basically the same deal as Wednesday – here’s a preview of today’s comic that will most likely be up tonight sometime (unlike Wednesday, it actually will go up pretty late, instead of say, noon.)
