Pixlr is this really neat, simple and intuitive Photoshop-esque editor.  I was reading an article about how it could *possibly* allow say, an iPad, to double as an image editor.  It isn’t perfect, but there’s enough there that it could really be something.

It works in your browser and is free.  That alone is pretty sweet, go play with it.
